Aconteceu no último sábado, dia 10 de dezembro de 2011, a noite de premiação do Spike Video Game Awards 2011. Com diversas revelações e novos trailers, os vencedores foram anunciados em todas as categorias.

O grande vencedor do ano foi The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, e por consequência, sua desenvolvedora Bethesda. Talvez adicione ainda mais valor pelo jogo ter sido criado, idealizado e publicado somente pela empresa, sem nenhuma ajuda externa. Batman: Arkham City também levou o mesmo número de prêmios que Skyrim.
